Why this web page you ask? Well, recently while trying to provide some quality bonding time with my two daughters Michelle and A.J. the subject of relatives came up. This led into a short discussion on ancestors and heritage. Short, I say, because after I proudly declared that we were half German, part Irish and part English they asked which parts are which and how much is "part." Well, I quickly realized that, as proud as I am to be an American I should be likewise proud (and knowledgable) of my ancestors and where we come from.

So I set out to find these answers for myself and my daughters. Not an easy undertaking as I soon found out. But I did find answers! After an eternity of trial and error I came to the realization that my efforts should not be in vain. Surely the Web Community could benefit from my toils via a sort of non-commercial guide to genealogy research! So here it is! I hope these links provide you with a better start on your journey than I had.
